Before you can begin any endeavor, you must first develop an idea. The purpose at this stage is to develop a strong idea, and a workable design, and to plant the seeds that will influence the overall course of the project. That way, you’ll have a solid basis from which to create the remainder of your strategy, even down to the smallest details. Here, you should determine the following: client budget and preferences, logistical issues, neighborhood covenants, first design, Modifications and Contract documents.

Between the initial planning stage and the actual construction, there are a number of tasks that are categorised as pre-construction. The previous stage focused on building a “outline” for the project, whereas this stage focuses on the details. The whole “plan” stage of Cedreo is dedicated to the pre-construction process. The user has sketched measurements, design aspects, and has moved on to making judgements regarding the roof in the screenshot below. In addition to finishing design plans, you’ll need to handle the following activities during pre-construction: permits, cost calculation, and procurement.

The third phase of a construction project is the only one that focuses on the physical building process. So far, you’ve obtained the necessary permissions, recruited contractors, and completed blueprints. It is now time to break ground and make ideas a reality. Here are some of the activities that are commonly linked with this step: Controlling safety and quality, Keeping the project on track and keeping the client informed.

The final “construction phase” is the close-out phase, which occurs after the build is completed but before the project is formally handed over to the owner. The aim is to ensure that everything has been done in accordance with the client’s specifications—and that there are no loose ends or lingering difficulties that will come back to haunt you. The project may be formally closed once you have performed the final inspection and the client has given their permission. The close-out phase also provides a chance for us to undertake a post-project evaluation.
